For many of our Kids Instyle entrepreneurs starting a family is also the birthplace for starting a business. Cyril Rosset of Little Frenchy is no exception. When Cyril and his partner were expecting their first child, they struggled to find the style of clothing and toys they had loved in their home country of France, so Cyril ceased the opportunity and began importing them himself. We say ‘Magnifique!’
Before starting this beautiful adventure with Little Frenchy, I would never imagine working in this industry. With a background in sales for freight companies such as TNT it was hard for me to believe that one day, I’ll be a wholesaler in clothes and accessories for kids.
I’ve always been inspired by success stories of people who started from scratch and who are now leaders of very successful businesses.
Starting my own business was on top of my to do list but I didn’t have an exact idea of what to do. My partner was pregnant when she told me one day how much she was struggling finding her favorite French brands here in Australia for our coming baby. This was the time I was waiting for: a sign! I took this as an opportunity and went for it. My partner and I started our researches on all brands we love and tried to get them here for everyone.
Now Little Frenchy is the exclusive distributor for La Queue du Chat, DEUZ, Coq en Pâte and Mibo. All imported clothes, toys and accessories for babies and kids are French labels. They’re made in India, France and England, using 100% certified organic cotton, natural non-toxic dyes, recycled paper and even seaweed. Mibo is the only non-French label we stock. The owner is an English designer who works closely with Coq en Pâte.
Our main focus is to provide beautiful and ethical products to our customers.
I’ve been exhibiting few times at KIS in both Sydney and Melbourne. It’s a well-organized event. I love the way exhibitors showcase their products. The designs and quality are amazing. Thanks to this high quality standard, this show attracts the buyer I am looking for.
We launched Coq en Pâte at Kids Instyle in Melbourne last year. It has been a huge success, the good response from both buyers and the media comforted me in the selection I’ve made.
I’m thrilled to be part of this show again. This time I’ll be launching two new French brands: Les Jouets libres and Pirouette Cacahouete are both 100% ecofriendly indeed. One is specialized in wooden toys, the other one in cardboard toys.
I hope you will love our new range as much as I do…
