Greenery Behind Glass

I’m not a big ‘green thumb’, but I do love adding a touch of plant life inside and around my home where I can, especially around the Spring and Summer seasons. Let’s be honest, we’ve all tried to nurse a fiddle leaf fig plant back to health over the years; well at least I have and with mixed success! I love using succulent and oversized leaves as decorative pieces to add ‘life’ to my home, either as a centrepiece to my dining table or entry hall.

I’m also now starting to add greenery to my home in another dimension; this time it’s on the wall, through art! Here are a few of my favourite art finds I’ve had on my radar for a while.

I believe adding ‘still life’ art to the walls is a great option for a ‘weekender’ or a residence you may not frequent as much. There is no maintenance required, but you are still able to achieve a stunning effect through the use of plants in the home, giving an uplifting feeling to a room.

Stefan Gevers is an incredible watercolour artist, whose recent works I have fallen in love with. His contemporary minimal designs are breathtaking and add a soft touch to any interior. How stunning is his ‘Chain of Hearts’ work?! His works are available through his website or Paper Empire.

Kimmy Hogan is a designer and artist from Geelong whose works are beautiful and her ‘flat lay’ series is just divine! She has a recent series of ‘Still Life’ works featuring flowers & monstera leaves in vases with muted soft tones…stunning and certainly on my wish list!

Bringing an element of photographic art into your home is also another option. I love the resurgence of this type of art at the moment and hope it remains for a while. One company who I absolutely love is the recently launched range from Our Print Collection. They have a fabulous selection…just looking at a picture of a palm tree instantly takes me away to a whole other place!

The Estate is another creative whose gilcee prints depiction of greenery in gorgeous ginger jars is just beautiful; definitely one to check out!

Try adding a piece of ‘green art’ around your home this spring and bring the outdoors in!
