New to Life Instyle this year will be Dan Cox Jewellery. Dan is a first timer to our show, and is busy making preparations for his stall (check out his blog post about all the work that goes into being part of the show here). You’ll be able to find all of Dan’s beautiful pieces in our First Instyle hall.
In the meantime you can can to know a little more about the man behind this handmade jewellery by reading on… we love that he’s inspired to create pieces that are simple, elegant, unique, lusted for, loved and salivated over!
How did you end up where you are today?
With a lot of hard work, an extra dash of determination and a slight addiction to customer satisfaction. I knew early on in my university studies that I wanted to make jewellery my career, after my first introduction to the subject of Gold and Silversmithing. I saw a way of being able to have that creative outlet as well as eventually support myself, so I set about creating that vision and turning it into a reality. After my first major commission with the Mater Childrens Oncology Department, in seeing their joy and satisfaction with the final product, I saw how something I created could make so many people happy. Watching the joy from someone seeing their piece for the first time, whether it has been commissioned or bought from the retail range, cements for me the reasons why I make jewellery.
What’s the best thing about what you do?
I wake up every day and get to do what I love to do. I have been lucky enough to create a career path where I am happy to go to work and I can’t see myself doing anything else but this!
Why did you choose to exhibit at Life Instyle?
Life Instyle offers a fantastic opportunity for me to show the retail market my high quality products, and for the retail market to meet the maker direct and see the passion I have for what I do.
What are you looking forward to at the show?
I am a big believer in opportunities and Life Instyle offers me the perfect opportunity to network and exposes me to a new range of contacts to develop working relationships with.
What can we expect to see from you at the show?
Simplicity, elegance and variety. Retailers will have the chance to buy unique hand made pieces that their customers will love!
