LIS: How did you get into this industry?

S: It has always been a passion more than a profession.

Since I was little I love designing and making things with my hands, using my imagination: it simply fills me up with joy. Drawings, writing, designing, colouring and drawing again. When you know me you will discover I am super busy creating all sorts of things. I love imagining, again and again, I know that there is an inspiration in everything. I have studied design and architecture in Italy and then work as a stylist, journalist and educator ever since. So this career is part of me and comes naturally.

LIS: What will be your biggest challenge this year?

S: Experiencing and embracing the moment. Creating something new. Keep feeding my curiosity. Stay focused. I do have a lot of projects going on: my fairy tale book is about to be published, The Beach Skirt – my fashion label – is growing, the journalism and talks collaboration are expanding and the teaching at ISCD is such an enrichment. The important is to be able to use and express my creativity.

LIS: What’s the most unique aspect of what you do?

S: Individuality and extreme passion. With a lot of fun. Creating a smile into people lives is a wonderful sensation. Design is magic.

LIS: By the end of the year, what would you like your customers to be saying about your business?

S: What a wonderful idea. Sonia is a surprise, out of the ordinary, so passionate, so creative, so contagiously happy: I would like to discover more about her ideas and projects.

LIS: What gets you out of bed in the morning?

S: Physically the patting steps of my little kids in the corridor. Energetically to desire to look up at the deep blue sky and at the fluffy changing clouds: a world of infinite possibilities. A new wonderful adventure that start, every day! My forevermore motto: “Be curious, have fun and believe in magic. Always.”
