May’s only halfway through and it’s been quite the month for events in the interiors industry. I kicked off which the much-anticipated preview tour of West Elm, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and Williams-Sonoma in Sydney’s Bondi on the 1st. It didn’t disappoint! The stores opened on the 2nd and I’ve heard nothing but praise and excitement since. I think it’s just what the Australian marketplace needed. I’ve been stalking the West Elm website every night since as bedtime reading. I have never been so excited by a brand, its designs, range and prices. And did you know they ship everywhere in Australia? Yes they do!

On the 6th I had a tour of the newly renovated harbourside suites by Bates Smart Architects at the Sebel Pier One in Sydney. They were absolutely stunning.

On the 7th I didn’t quite make it to the launch of stylist Megan Morton’s Mother’s Day popup at the MLC Centre, which is open for business and selling gorgeous things until the end of this month.

On the 9th, The Aparttment opened at Sydney’s trendy Ivy complex. It’s a new lifestyle concept store selling everything from furniture to fashion to tea. It’s really unique and just what the CBD needs more of.

On the 10th I taught my regular Blogging for Beginners class at the Australian Writers’ Centre, where, as usual, I met a few lovely Interiors Addict readers! As I write this I’m preparing to go to the Audi women of Style Awards at Carriageworks. Should be a glam night!

There’s plenty more to look forward to in the coming month, including the Belle | Coco Republic Interior Design Awards, stylist Sibella Court’s talk as part of Sydney Writers’ Festival and the Finders Keepers Market hitting Sydney. I’ll fill you in next month!
