Lighting sets a mood for any room and has now become more of a focus, there is nothing worse than a room that has hash bright light. Lighting is now part of our planning decisions in any room space, so when you are choosing your lighting style think about the shape, scale, materials, colours and the position in a room. Also consider lamps that are functional and can have a decorative focus plus this is a good place to start with adding ambience.
Create a lighting statement by using fabric covered lamps, chandeliers or even a row of pendent lights hanging can define an area. I think using lighting styles in unexpected places or adding lighting with a pop of colour gives an effective contrast to add definition to your home.
