This is an exciting, one-of-a-kind opportunity for exhibitors from Life Instyle and Reed Gift Fairs to have access to the world class manufacturing capabilities and expertise of Tchibo. Tchibo have more that 900 stores throughout Europe, but in terms of manufacturing capabilities, what is their story?

Lamps, sofas, cushions, breakfast dishes or shower curtains: Tchibo develops some 2,000 products per year. A team of product managers, purchasing managers, marketing professionals and quality developers are responsible for planning the product from start to finish. These are all experts in their field and there are specific teams for categories such as “Bath”, “Living” ,”Kitchen” and “Outdoors”- just to name a few.

Product managers are constantly looking for new inspiration. They do this systematically and explore the megatrends. They predict what will be big next year both domestically and internationally. You might look at a Tchibo product manager as a trend scout! Product managers select products based on upcoming color themes, shapes , materials and range trends.

The products are represented on mood boards which serve as the basis for the subsequent development work on the ranges. Sample products are extensively field tested and if the decision to commence large scale production. The quality management team selects the process and materials used. Fit, finish and practicality are the most important quality criteria.

Tchibo products are marketed and sold in weekly phases according to category. As far as possible the theme worlds are visually merchandised and photographed in Hamburg each week. From this product shoot, a catalogue, website, tv advertsising and in-store visual merchandising plan is derived. Tchibo products are only available at Tchibo. And they are only available for a week.
