Lately I just keep stumbling across the most amazing interiors, food styling and photography with one common theme. They are all Scandinavian and simply gorgeous! ‘Scandi Style’ is hitting all the right creative buttons for me right now, whether it’s outstanding art on a plate from world’s #1 restaurant in Denmark NOMA, Georg Jensen’s latest Wine & Bar collection, or uber stylish blogs like FRYD and Emma’s Design Blog, Scandinavian style can do no wrong.
Two absolute standouts for me this month include acclaimed Danish editorial photographer Line Klein. Adoring foodie, a lover of all things delicate, both food and faces. Copenhagen-based Klein specialises in food, lifestyle and portraits with her signature Scandi style gracing the pages of a long list of bestselling books and popular magazines. With a strong emphasis on texture and light, Klein’s beautiful aesthetic leaves me wanting more.
And then I found Hans Blomquist on the Swedish site Agent Bauer, featuring the works of Blomquist and some of the best photographers, food stylists and designers from Stockholm, Sweden. Blomquist’s emphasis on natural light, soft tones and textures and dreamy styling has me hooked. I cant wait to get my hands on his latest book ‘The Natural Home’ a celebration of natural materials and motifs that bring joy to the home. “Colour presents his favourite earthy, natural colour palette, which provides the perfect backdrop for hits of brighter natural hues”. Sensual and and simple Scandinavian cool has me intrigued, inspired and has captured my heart.
