Wallpaper Obsession Continues

“Wallpaper. Make it your friend.” — Julia Green, Interior Stylist.

Wallpaper has come a long, long way since the ‘80s!

Large graphic prints, hand-painted illustrations and grasscloth are just some of the beautiful options available. Wallpaper has not only become more stylish over time – it’s also easier to hang (with no water options) and easier to remove when you feel like changing up the look.

Today we’re introducing you to one of our favourites – These Walls.

We discovered this stunning wallpaper and textile brand at the Life Instyle 2015 trade event and are thrilled to share their beautiful work with you today.

Queensland based designer, Sara Hingle, is the creator behind the brand and has worked as an editorial illustrator for publications including Frankie magazine and Smith Journal.

She describes the aesthetic of the brand as “contradictory on so many levels – neither feminine nor masculine – perhaps it is a little of both”.

It’s her striking yet warm and liveable designs that really caught our eye.

‘Atlas Wallpaper Overcast’ is one of our top picks from her current collection with an understated and relaxed design.

We also love that her collection is designed, printed and made locally in Australia.

Add more layers and interest in your home by introducing some wallpaper feature walls. “It’s a great alternative to a flat paint job,” says Julia Green.

Julia recently designed her son’s room to have a large wave wallpaper feature wall and carried the look through the room by pulling out shades of blue in some of the décor.

“It looks amazing. He loves it and everyone who sees the room comments on it.

“Who cares if he grows out of it in two years, it’s easy to change wallpaper or remove it and do something different when his taste changes,” says Julia.

You can see the full collection of These Walls wallpaper designs on their website and who knows, you might just be inspired to take the plunge?!
